"Size DOES matter!"

Thanks.....Slowly but surely.....

This is looking great! You know that anything with Princess Leia gets my attention as she is one of my favorites! I can't wait to see this completed!

You and me both. The process is so slow, but I think worth it. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to blend grey Prismacolors.... Looking forward to working on the ceremonial gown. I know the 30th anniversary has almost come and gone but better late than never! Stay tuned!

This is promising to look fantastic when it's done! I love the skin tones, her pose and the composition of the whole piece! Actually, it's so smooth and well done that it looks like airbrushing. I can't wait for the finished piece!

Thanks. Actually the background is airbrushed acrylics. All of the figural and ship work will be in prismacolors. I'm feeling pretty good about it so far, just hope I finish it sooner than later....
:icontanabatablossom:
Aha! Then I guess I did have a good eye. I do like the smooth effect you get from it. It looks like a poster, really gorgeous, and so "neat". You ought to feel good about it. The finished piece will be amazing, I'm sure of it.

Well, don't rush it. Just take all the time you need for it. :)

Yep. I'd probably shoot myself in the head if I tried to render the space background in pencils. I try to do all the generalized colors or "color fields" in acrylic washes or through the airbrush, then I go back for the details in pencils. That's the ticket!
:icontanabatablossom:
Haha! I can't remember what size your painting is, but if it's what I think it is, then I'd shoot myself too if I had to do all that with just pencils. :faint: I know one can use color pencils over watercolor washes, but does the same apply for acrylic washes? I'd think acrylics are thicker and have that sort of plastic-like film to it?
